Geberit AquaClean shower toilets in Aberdare and the Cynon Valley

A toilet that washes and dries — supplied and fitted, including the wall-hung frame and the concealed cistern behind it.

A shower toilet replaces the pan rather than sitting on top of one: it washes and dries, and the controls are on a handset. It is worth knowing about if getting up and down is hard work, and plenty of people fit one simply because they prefer it.

It needs a water supply and a fused connection at the pan, and both are far easier to put in before the wall is tiled than after. The plumbing and the frame are mine; if there is no supply there already, the electrical side is an electrician's job and not something this site offers.

The photographs here are from one in progress. The pan is hung on a frame with the cistern concealed behind the panel beside it, so there is nothing standing on the floor to clean around.

What this covers

What it does

An adjustable spray arm
The spray arm adjusts, so the strength of the wash is set to suit the person using it rather than fixed.
A warm air dryer
The dryer moves to follow wherever the spray arm is set, and has five temperature settings. Both are reached from the remote control.
Seat sensors
Sensors pick up that somebody is seated, and the washing and drying only run while they are.
