No job too small — and these are the ones people tell me they have been putting off for years because they felt too small to call anyone out for. If what you need is on this list, it is a normal thing to ring about. If it is bigger than this list, that is the rest of what I do.
Outside tap fitted
A new outside tap fitted to your garden or yard, teed off the pipework indoors with its own isolation valve.
Shower or bath resealed
The old silicone cut out, the joint cleaned back and dried, and a new bead run along the edge of the bath, tray or screen.
Dripping tap fixed
A tap that will not stop dripping, repaired — usually a worn washer or ceramic cartridge rather than a new tap.
Toilet that keeps running
A cistern that will not stop filling, or trickles into the pan long after it has been flushed.
Blocked sink, bath or shower
A slow or blocked waste cleared, and the trap cleaned out properly rather than chemically masked.
Leak under a sink or basin
A drip inside the cupboard traced and stopped — a waste connection, a trap seal, a tap tail or a flexible hose.
Washing machine or dishwasher plumbed in
A washing machine or dishwasher connected to water and waste, with its own isolation valve.
Radiator taken off, swapped or refitted
A radiator removed for decorating, swapped for a new one, or refitted with new valves. Wet system work only — no gas appliance work.
Seized or leaking stopcock replaced
The main stop tap replaced so the water can actually be turned off in a hurry.
Toilet seat, handle or cistern parts
A wobbling seat, a broken handle, a failed flush button or a cracked cistern fitting replaced.
Shower head, hose or bar replaced
A furred-up head, a split hose or a riser rail that has pulled off the wall, replaced.
Isolation valves fitted
Small valves added to the pipework feeding taps, the toilet and appliances, so one fitting can be worked on without draining the house.
